LEIGH RMI travel to Nuneaton Borough on Saturday for what manager Mark Patterson describes as his club's 'most massive game of the season" writesDavid Magilton

The relegation threatened Railwaymen are currently third from the bottom of the table, just one point behind Nuneaton, but with a game in hand.

With the fight for the survival almost certain to go down to the wire Patterson admits it is a key game.

"We have two new strikers and I am hoping that we can get into our opponents half quicker," he said. "We have been trying to play too many short passes in midfield on poor pitches and I will be looking for a different approach."

Patterson is looking for an immediate impact from his new strikeforce of Keith Scott and Neil Campbell, who both joined the club from Scarborough last week.

He said: "As far as goals are concerned I don't mind where they come from, but Keith is a good aerial player who will be a target man, while Neil has pace and can use the channels for us."

The manager will be looking for a repeat of the fighting spirit his side have displayed since he took charge. In their four previous Conference games Leigh have won two, drawn one and lost one.

"The players are now aware of what is required. They realise they have to work hard and have shown more commitment and resilience," he added.

RMI will be without Gerry Harrison who is suspended, while Neil Fitzhenry will have a late check on a leg injury.
