A MAN who targeted the same supermarket three times to carry out the theft of TV sets has been jailed six months.
Wayne Englebert, aged 24, of Cross Lane, Radcliffe, had carried out two of the shoplifting forays at Asda in Rochdale while subject to bail and a warning not to enter the store.
Englebert admitted at Rochdale Magistrates Court stealing a TV worth £139 from Asda on February 7, stealing another TV and video combination worth £139 from the store the following day, and on February 20 again stealing a TV from the store worth £119, and causing £50 worth of damage to a police cell mattress .
Miss Yvonne Tunnicliffe, prosecuting, said Englebert had an "unenviable" record which included 25 previous convictions.
On his behalf, Mr David Chad said Englebert's antics were inept and he had long-standing alcohol problems, suffered from septicaemia and two forms of hepatitis. Medical staff have warned him that would not last another 12 months if he continued drinking.
