BOXING brothers Amir and Haroon Khan both lifted North West National Schoolboys Amateur titles when they competed at Everton Sports Centre.
It was the third time that Amir has won the title but little brother Haroon won his 32k class at the first attempt. The pair are Smithills High School pupils and members of Bury Boxing Club.
Haroon, aged 12, boxed extremely well against his Merseyside opponent Lewis Johnson and won a unanimous decision by 13-6.
Elder brother Amir, aged 16, who has already made a huge impression in the sport, moved up two weights in his class to the 60kg category.
Amir, who has won the two previous England Schoolboys championships, proved far too classy for Merseyside champion Michael Ungi whom he stopped in the second round.
The win has put Amir through to the England Schools quarter finals against the North East champion.
