A MAN has suffered severe injuries after being attacked by his own dog.
John McGrath was attacked by his Bull Terrier Cross on Friday night at his home in Bolton-le-Sands, Lancashire.
Lancashire Police said they were called to his home in Main Road after hearing reports that the dog had "savagely attacked" him.
He was taken by ambulance to Royal Lancaster Infirmary with severe injuries to both arms and the fingers on his left hand.
The dog was shot at the scene by a police marksman at Mr McGrath's request.
