A BOLTON football fan seriously injured in a vicious attack at Chorley railway station over a week ago is recovering slowly in hospital.
The 47-year-old father-of two, identified only as Steve for fear of reprisals, spent several days in intensive care with severe head injuries after the incident following Manchester United's clash with Bolton.
Steve, a Manchester United fan, was attacked on the platform by a gang of men, believed to be Wanderers fans.
Pictures from CCTV cameras published in the Bolton Evening News led to the arrest of four men, who have since been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
But detectives from British Transport Police are still trying to trace other men who they believe were involved in the attack at around 7pm on February 22. Anyone who can help should call 0800 405040.
