AFTER two recent defeats Eagley stopped the rot when they travelled to Milnthorpe in the West Lancs Premier Division and came away with a share of the points after a thrilling 2-2 draw.
The game, played on a poor surface, was a dour affair in the first half with Eagley's best attempt at goal being a Carl Bancs header which flashed past the post.
Milnthorpe created a number of chances before going ahead on 30 minutes when Mark Crossley gave keeper Mark Warren no chance with a fine shot.
In the second half, Eagley opened much brighter and were rewarded on 55 minutes when Rob Howarth fired home an equaliser from close range.
The villagers dominated the game from then and should have put the result beyond doubt before veteran Sean Hill put them in front on 90 minutes through a well struck free kick.
With the points seemingly in the bag Milnthorpe grabbed a lifeline in injury time when Neil McKechnie miss hit a hotly disputed free kick into the net from 25 yards to see the game end in stalemate at 2-2. Eagley Res comprehensively beat Springfield 7-2 with four goals from Carl Grimshaw and two from Chris Longthorne.
