Coldplay and Ms Dynamite scooped two prizes each at the Brits Awards 2003.

Coldplay won best British group and British album, while a pregnant Ms Dynamite took British female and British urban.

And Robbie Williams triumphed over favourite The Streets to take best British male for the fourth time.

Other big awards went to Blue for best pop act, Pink for international female and Eminem for international male.

Will Young took best breakthrough artist, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers won international group, Liberty X took best single for their hit Just A Little Bit and Sugababes won British dance act.

Gwyneth Paltrow hid behind a beanie hat, as she watched boyfriend Chris Martin join Coldplay on stage.

Martin became the first artist of the night to sent a political message objecting to war against Iraq.

He told the audience: "We think this is great, although awards are essentially nonsense.

"We are all going to die when George Bush gets his way - but it's great to go out with a bang," he said.
