PAUL Allott, who lost his place on Lancashire Cricket Club's committee at the recent annual meeting, has been invited onto the cricket sub-committee.
In a statement today the club says: "Following recommendations from the Chairman, Cricket Chairman and Cricket Manager, Paul Allott has accepted an invitation to attend meetings of the Cricket Sub-Committee in an honorary advisory capacity.
"Paul was not re-elected to the General Committee at the Club's Annual General Meeting earlier this year and his absence would have been a major blow to Lancashire's cricket strengths.
"Paul, along with Clive Lloyd, sees an enormous amount of both domestic and international cricket and their experience in helping the cricket management of the Club has been invaluable.
"In addition, Paul has made considerable contribution to the Club's cricket strategies in recent years, which includes positive moves such as the setting up of an ECB Academy at Old Trafford."
Chairman Jack Simmons said "I am delighted Paul has accepted our invitation, this will provide continuity to the good work that has already taken place within the cricket committee.
