A Wanderers fanatic who was at Wembley's first cup final in 1923 has celebrated reaching her 100th birthday.
Margaret Parkinson, who moved from Bolton to the Orleans Rest Home in Latham Road, Southport, two years ago, puts her lengthy years down to her active lifestyle and love of sport.
A former athlete and avid follower of the Wanderers, Margaret was well known for her accomplishments, winning gold medals in swimming, tennis and hockey.
Moving to Southport has not quelled her passion for Bolton Wanderers.
She said: "I have to make do with sport on the television these days but I would rather play a game myself!
"I can remember being at Wembley for the cup final in 1923 when Bolton beat West Ham 2-0. They're not playing badly at the moment and I hope to see them win the cup again."
Margaret, who received a telegram from the Queen, toasted her 100 years with her family at a party at the rest home, where staff presented her a football pitch birthday cake.
