We've probably all seen the BBC2 fashion series 'What not to wear', and almost certainly heard of the formidable Trinny and Susannah, the programme's presenters.
In their book, 'What not to wear', which accompanies the series, we are guided through the rights and wrongs of style.
Trinny and Susannah believe that looking stylish is as much about knowing what not to wear as knowing what to wear.
We all want to look good, it's a small, but essential part of how the world sees us. Clothing can reflect our mood, can make us look different and help us feel confident.
With affordable catwalk trends filtering down to us ordinary folk quicker than ever before there has never been a better moment for more choice, more variety, more value!
But we are all different and no one is the same shape and size as another. How does the Bolton high street cope with this? Zo Graham has been to find out.
First stop New Look. New Look was born in 1969 when the first store opened in Taunton, the brainchild of Tom Singh. Since then the store has gone from strength to strength, becoming a recognised brand name.
New look offers a wide range of high fashion with affordable items alongside wardrobe basics like t-shirts and jeans. It is praiseworthy for its variety of collections that cater for all.
In 1995, the brand launched the 915 teen wear range, and in 2000 Inspire, fashion for sizes 16+ was introduced. A petite range is also on offer, and in some stores, Luella, an exclusive designer range, is available.
For more information log onto www.newlook.co.uk or pop down to Hotel Street.
Dorothy Perkins has been a part of the fashion scene for many years. Noted for its high fashion pieces with inspiration coming from major catwalks, Dorothy Perkins offers style and trends in sizes 8-22. They also provide maternity wear, and a petite and tall range.
With sales on through out the year, you're bound to find a bargain, or at least something you like, even if it is full price! Check out the website at www.dorothyperkins.co.uk or go down to Deansgate to see for yourself.
Last, but by no means least, Etam offers a wide range of clothing for all shapes and sizes, including Etam Plus and Tammy. A lingerie section provides fashionable, comfortable underwear. Check out Etam in Oxford Street.
