A BOLTON man has been remanded in custody charged with attempting to murder two men.
Roy Wilson, of Derby Street, appeared at Bolton Magistrates Court on Tuesday and was remanded to appear at Manchester Crown Court next week.
The 18-year-old was arrested in connection with an alleged knife and baseball bat attack on two men at a flat in Bromwich Street, The Haulgh early on Saturday morning.
Both men -- aged 22 and 37 -- remained at the Royal Bolton Hospital today.
One suffered knife wounds to the neck and back, cuts, bruising and a collapsed lung, and needed extensive surgery, the court was told.
Steve Sergeant, prosecuting, said the second man suffered broken bones to his face and arms and had a finger amputated. Police said that both of the men are in stable conditions in hospital.
Magistrates refused an application to release Wilson on bail.
A 26-year-old man also arrested in connection with the alleged incident was released without charge. Wilson will appear at Manchester Crown Court for a plea and directions hearing next Tuesday.
Steve Sergeant, prosecuting, said: "These are serious matters which can only be dealt with at the crown court."
