NDIWA Lord-Kangana - the powerful young defender whose dream move to the Reebok turned into a red-tape nightmare - is confident he will become a Bolton player this summer writes Gordon Sharrock

The 19-year-old African-born Swede has continued to train with Wanderers since his transfer from Djurgaarden dramatically collapsed on deadline day and has assured Sam Allardyce he has no plans to sign for any other club.

"I've been happy with the situation since the first day I came here," Kangana said after partnering Ivan Campo in the centre of the rest of the World defence in last night's charity match at the Reebok. "I've been to other clubs but this is the best. I have a 'deal' with the club and in the summer I will sign for them."

Kangana's proposed move, brokered by the former Sweden international Martin Dahlin, broke down because of Fifa regulations which restrict players to just one international transfer in a 12 month period.

Allardyce assured the highly-rated defender he still planned to sign him in the summer - provided no other clubs made approaches in the meantime.

"I'm still very excited about coming to Bolton," the youngster added.

"It was very hard for me at the time but I feel the experience has made me a stronger person."
