BOLTON TV presenter Vernon Kay's new prime time show got off to a disappointing start.
The show, Boys And Girls, on Channel Four on Saturday night prime-time TV, drew just over one million viewers.
Funnyman Chris Evans was the brains behind Boys And Girls, which made its debut at the weekend, and he even made a cameo appearance.
But it was a turn-off for viewers, with the audience figure of 1.1 million being beaten by all other terrestrial channels.
In fact, Boys And Girls pulled in just five per cent of the available audience. Channel Four would normally expect to pull in an average of 10 per cent for its shows.
A spokesman for Channel Four said: "It was a great show. It was the first outing and these things take time. You can't judge on just one show."
The show has not been a resounding success with critics. either.
The Guardian's Gareth McLean wrote: "That's entertainment? Only if you're very young, very drunk or harbour an ambition to be a Big Brother housemate."
Among the stunts featured in the show were parents who were aiming to embarrass their children and a couple who appeared naked.
