The National Trust may invoke an image of historic country estates and stately homes. But on March 29 they are opening John Lennon's humble Liverpool home to the public for the first time.
Donated to the Trust by Yoko Ono, "Mendips" is the home where John lived with his auntie and the Trust are giving it that period 50s and 60s look to recapture the era of Lennon's formative years.
The house can be visited along with Paul McCartney's childhood home on minibus tours from the Albert Dock and Speke Hall.
