SCHOOLS throughout Bolton celebrated National Book Week and World Book Day.
Many children swapped their school uniform for fancy dress, to impersonate their favourite book characters. Children at St Stephen and All Martyrs school, Darcy Lever, in their fancy dress, took part in book quizzes, reading and drama sessions.
Pupils and teachers at Rumworth School in Ladybridge went to school in their nightclothes to read bedtime stories.
Bolton Evening News deputy features editor, Karen Stephen joined in World Book Day by reading to reception pupils at All Saint CE Primary School in Moses Gate. The four and five year olds were treated to a story about Thomas The Tank Engine and Friends and later enjoyed answering questions and looking at the pictures.
