COLD, wet and half starved . . .Tiffany the cat was saved from certain death after getting trapped in undergrowth in a Lostock garden.
RSPCA officer, Helen Chapman cut the soggy moggy free from a bramble bush after she was found by workmen in the area.
It is not known how long the grey, Persian adult cat was there. But she is thought to have been languishing in the undergrowth for a number of days, possibly up to a week.
RSPCA spokesman, Kevin Hegarty said: "The poor creature was completely stuck and miaowing when she was found.
"She was also very hungry and the workmen gave it some food which she ate very quickly."
He added: "It was lucky that Tiffany had her tag with the phone numbers and had been chipped because we were able to contact the owners immediately.
"We would recommend everyone who has a pet, to get the animal chip because if people lose them we can easily track the owner down."
Tiffany's owners do not wish to be named, but they have expressed their gratitude to Helen Chapman and have given a donation of thanks to the charity.
