Grand night for top pairs

In this event the pairs are not picked by the players they are drawn out on the night for who plays together. This is done to give an equal chance for every player.

At the Albert the winners were Sonia McGuinness/Mavis Naylor who beat Marie Watts/Pat Ryding in the semi-finals. The other winners were Bev Irwin/Sharon Price who beat Kath Lawson/Pat Boardman in their semi-finals.

At the Moonlight Club the winners were Marian Heyes/Ellen Wareing who beat Edith Stephens/Maureen Taylor in the semi finals. The other winners were Pauline Lomax/Dot Ainsworth who beat Dawn Lowe/Eva Holden in their semi-finals.

The four remaining pairs will play off in the grand finals night at the end of the season. These are Sonia McGuinness/Mavis Naylor; Bev Irwin/Sharon Price; Marian Heyes/Ellen Wareing; Pauline Lomax/Dot Ainsworth.

Another one more maximum score of 180 was recorded last week by Tommy Jessop.
