A 23-YEAR-OLD man who robbed an 18-year-old woman and tried to rob a 16-year-old girl has been jailed for six years.
Preston Crown court was told that Stephen Lord had only been out of prison for six months for raping an 18 year old girl in Chorley when he attacked the women.
The court heard Lord, of Water Street, Chorley, had been jailed for five years for the rape which involved him targeting an 18-year-old woman in Astley Park. She was dragged into a hut and raped.
Jailing Lord, Judge Christopher Cornwall said: "The experience each one of them has suffered is an experience that will be with them for a very long time to come.
"I am driven to the conclusion that you present a very real danger to women who are out at night on their own."
Mr Nicholas Courtney, prosecuting, told the court the attempted robbery involving a 16-year-old apprentice hairdresser took place at 11.30pm on Friday September 6 last year.
As she walked on Harpers Lane she felt someone grab her from behind and she was told to get into the bushes. The girl screamed and she managed to break free when a car went past.
