Horwich RMI Harrier and GB International Sue Jones won with ease in her first duathlon of the year at Clitheroe on Sunday.
The top class athlete cleared the rest of the ladies field by a winning margin of over 12 minutes.
She led on the first 3.1 mile run from the start recording a time of 18.40. She maintained her lead on the technical 25 miles undulating bike section that involved many bends and tight turns (1.06.45).
On Sue's final 3.1 mile run she relaxed, coasting home to an impressive victory, recording a time of 20.43 and a total event time of 1.46.08.
Sue's performance bodes well for competitions ahead and her target of doing well in the World Triathlon Championships in New Zealand later this year.
Colin Rigby recorded a personal best time in last Sunday's Trafford 10K Road Race of 32.33 as he finished 14th. Just behind in 15th was Nigel Clementson who was the first O40 in a time of 32.53.
Steve Cottom ran well again as he completed the Harriers' team of three in 25th (34.27).
Sue Webb was back after being out for six months with an Achilles problem and finished an impressive first lady over 40 (fifth lady) in 77th.
On the same day Paul Muller continued to produce top class race performances as he finished second and first vet in the St Annes Fire Station 10 Mile Road Race (53.58). Lindsey Townsend was 186th and Mark Kay 207th.
The previous weekend Tony Hesketh raced the day after competing in the National Cross-Country Championships as he prepares for the London Marathon next month.
He finished a terrific fourth (first vet 50) in the Terminator 10, an 11 mile multi-terrain race at Pewsley in the Cotswolds. Tony ran really well considering his efforts the day before, recording a time of 1.17.35. Bolton's David Shaw pushed hard as he finished an excellent second.
Radcliffe AC kicked off their 2003 Road Race Championship with a trip to the Trafford 10k at Partington last Sunday.
Eileen Royle did the club proud by winning the ladies over 55 section. She was 33rd among all the female runners with a time of 49mins 17secs. Adrian Harris was third over 45 and 31st man overall, in 35.09.
David Bartlett clocked 39.28 and Mark Jackson40.57 to end up 77th and 90th.
