THE 10th Bolton (St Anne's, Turton) Brownie Pack celebrates its 50th birthday in December, and Brownie Guider, who wishes to call herself simply Sue (no, no, before the jokes start, simply Sue, not simple Sue!) tells me that they are planning a weekend of celebrations, among which will be a display of records, photographs, and perhaps uniforms from the last half century, as well as a service of celebration and, of course, a party.
"Notices in the Parish Magazine will get in touch with those ex-Brownies and leaders still living in the village, or who have family here," she writes "but I would like to contact former Brownies and especially leaders and helpers who have now left the area, but who perhaps have friends and relatives still in Bolton who read your page and can let them know." If you are one of these "missing" people, please contact Sue on Bolton 852978.
