A BEER produced by Bolton's only independent small brewery is the toast of the North of England after being voted best mild.
Bank Top Brewery Mild beat a selection of beers from across Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Yorkshire, Cumbria, Merseyside and Cheshire.
The honour was granted by a judging panel of the Small Independent Brewers' Association.
John Feeney, of Bank Top Brewery, said: "I'm delighted that it has been recognised.
"Now we're looking forward to competing for the title of best mild in the country."
