TALENTED Anya Hoque might be too young to train for her karate Black Belt but she has made remarkable progress in her chosen sport.
The nine-year-old Lowton schoolgirl won a recent international karate event at Nottingham after only one year in competition. As a 1st Kyu Brown Belt she will go in for her Black Belt next year when she will have reached the minimum age for that level.
The athletic and sporty Gilded Hollins School pupil trains three times a week and will soon be joined by younger sister Nadia, who at four years old has another two years to wait before she can get involved.
"Karate teaches self-discipline and etiquette," said their proud mum, Jackie.
