SUPERMARKET bosses are investigating after a three-year-old girl almost choked on a piece of plastic she found in her yoghurt.
Elise Bradley loves yoghurts and eats four a day, so her grandmother, Christine Bradley buys multipacks of Morrisons own brand Bettabuy yoghurts for her and her eight-year-old sister.
As Elise tucked into one of the yoghurts at her grandma's house in St Ann Street, Halliwell, she shouted to her grandma that there was something in it.
Mrs Bradley explained: "I told her it was just fruit, but she said she didn't like it and when I looked I couldn't believe my eyes, there was a big jagged piece of plastic in it.
"I was horrified. Luckily she hadn't eaten it, but I can't stop imagining what could have happened."
Mrs Bradley returned to the Mornington Road store and confronted the manager, who offered her some free yoghurts and took the sample to send to the manufacturer for investigation.
A spokesman for Morrisons said: "We treat all matters such as this seriously and will conduct a full investigation.
"This is an isolated incident and until we have carried out our investigation we are unable to speculate as to what it could be. Once we have the results we will give a full report to the person concerned.
"We apologise for the inconvenience caused."
