REFERENCE David Wilkinson's letter of March 6 published in the Bolton Evening News.
What a very short and inaccurate memory, or should I say selective memory, he seems to have.
At the Council budget meeting of February 26 it was him and his party that proposed a motion to increase car parking fees by the rate of inflation. The Conservative group voted against his motion and it was defeated.
At the same meeting the Conservative group tabled a motion that would not only see some car parking charges reduced, but the re-introduction of some free short term parking in specified areas. This motion he and his Lib Dem colleagues subsequently voted with (because his was defeated) but the motion was defeated by the Labour group voting en masse as usual.
We have come to expect creative commentary in the so-called Lib Dem "Focus" leaflets. But he should be more careful when he takes it on himself to write to the public through the Bolton Evening News. This is yet again another example of the Lib Dems trying to be everything to everyone when actually they don't really have any workable policies of their own worth peddling.
