A SIX month scheme to repair and strengthen a wall alongside a busy road is likely to cause long delays for motorists.
Bolton Council engineers will make emergency repairs to a stretch of the wall, running along Barrow Bridge Road, Barrow Bridge from next Monday.
The work is due to last for six months and high levels of disruption are expected. Temporary closures to parts of the road will be enforced and a range of diversions will be in place.
Motorists are advised to use revised routes around Londshaw Ford Road, Collier Row, Smithills Deane Road and Smithills Croft Road and Barrow Bridge Road itself.
Bolton Council say diversions will be clearly signposted.
