WHEN Muriel Blenkinsop saw a recent Bolton Evening News picture of the St Philip's Operatic Society production of "State Fair", it brought back memories of her teenage years (she is now 85), when she appeared in two of the society's shows.
Mrs Blenkinsop now lives in Yorkshire, and recalls sitting backstage at St Philip's eating meat and potato pie baked by Mothers' Union members. She writes: "Next door was the vicarage, then my church, St Philip's, where I was christened, and across the road was Swan Lane mill chimney, which Fred Dibnah felled, to my horror."
She doesn't think she will have many contemporaries left here. However, if you remember Mrs Blenkinsop (nee Kirkman), you can contact her at 26 St Aidan's Square, Crossflats, Bingley, Yorks BD16 2BN.
