SWIMMERS from Tyldesley Swimming and Water Polo Club entered the Central Lancashire Age Groups at Wigan International Pool.
They achieved great results, taking a haul of 14 gold, five silver and four bronze medals, with every swimmer producing personal best times.
Swimming for the first time at a competitive level was 10 year old Daniel Williams. He produced three excellent swims in the 50m breaststroke, backstroke and freestyle events.
Just missing out on a third place position in the 11 year old girls 50m breaststroke was Melissa Reeder with a personal best time. Kimberley Rumbelow, Rachel Aspinall, Kimberley Banner and Natalie Cummings all produced excellent swims and great results.
Heather Fredriksen achieved gold and a national qualifying time in the 400 freestyle and a further two golds in the 800 and 1500 freestlye events.
Stephen Cottam and Matthew Keams produced personal best times in all their events and collected their share of the medal tally.
A number of the club's swimmer have been selected to represent Central Lancashir. They are Kimberley Banner, Natalie Cummings, Declan Peers, Stephen Cottam, Matthew Kearns and Richard Hughes. Melissa Reeder and Daniel Laithwaite have been selected as reserves.
