AFTER reading the article in Tuesday's Bolton Evening News regarding the arson attack, and the appalling injuries to the poor horse, Gus, I sincerely hope that the culprit will be punished severely.
But, then again, with the ludicrous judicial system we have in this country, I suppose he'll get a slap on the wrist and a holiday.
I could suggest a holiday destination -- why not send him out to Africa? Let him help put in pipelines to bring water to the poor people there, and learn to understand what real deprivation is.
He could earn his keep and take the burden off the taxpayer and, in the process, he might learn something to his advantage.
Anyway, it would be better than putting him in jail, and better than a fine.
As for the owners of Gus, I hope he gets better soon and we'll say a prayer for him. I love animals too.
