POLICE are investigating the cause of a fire in a flat which left a teenager suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke.
Firefighters tackled the blaze in a ground floor flat in a semi detached house in Bradford Street, The Haulgh on Saturday.
They rescued two men from the building, which is divided into nine flats.
One 19-year-old man was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital.
Yesterday fire investigation officers were examining the scene of the fire which is thought to have started at the back of a ground floor flat.
Firefighters were treating the fire as malicious.
