EIGHT grown men were reduced to nervous wrecks when they spent the night in a haunted castle.
Damien Kaye, aged 29, his brother Kieran, aged 35, and six of their friends braved the ghostly ruins of Muncaster Castle, in Barrow-in-Furness to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
The venture was organised by Damien, whose step-son Kaine, aged four, was diagnosed with the debilitating condition at just seven months old.
The group, aged between 21 and 35, arrived at the 12th century castle armed with sleeping bags, cameras and a video recorder in the hope of capturing footage of anything supernatural.
Damien, of Haverhill Grove, Tonge Moor said: "My brother and I are interested in the paranormal so it seemed the perfect idea. We heard that the castle was haunted, so we stayed up all night trying to get interesting footage. There were a good few frights and panic attacks along the way.
"When we watched the video we could see flashes of white light flitting across the room. That's what happens when there's a presence or spirit present."
The group are keen fundraisers, having organised a fancy-dress rounders match, and a 24-hour pool competition.
Damien said: "We enjoy a challenge. My next venture is to camp on Pendle Hill at Halloween."
