WALKDEN'S hopes of winning the National Indoor six-a-side cricket competition were dashed at the semi-final stage at Lord's when they lost to the eventual title winners Sudbrook.
The Bolton champions had a disastrous start and struggled to 10-3 and 19-4 before Rob Slater gave them some respectability with an undefeated 42. In reply, Sudbrook, who have won the Welsh title for the past five years, passed the total without losing a wicket.
