THERE was a whole range of musical talent on show at the Albert Hallson Monday night when Bolton's youngsters showed off their talents on string, brass and percussion instruments.
And they were in good voice too, judging by the singing of Bolton Youth Choir, the newly-formed Turton Training Choir and the youngsters from St Peter's CE Primary School, Smithills Dean.
They were all performing at the second concert in the Bolton music Centre Presents series, which runs nightly at the Albert Halls until Thursday.
Guest soloist in a packed programme was Graham Ormiston, a sixth-form pupil at Canon Slade, who performed a trumpet concerto.
Last night's concert was sponsored by Tower FM and saw performances from: Bolton Youth Choir; St Peter's School choir; Farnworth and Deane Junior Strings; Turton Training Choir; Bolton Intermediate Brass Band; Bolton Intermediate Percussion Ensemble; and the award-winning Bolton Youth Concert Band.
There were 21 schools represented in the Intermediate Brass Band alone, and the youngest musician was aged nine.
Highlights planned for tonight include brass bands, a clarinet quintet, strings, woodwind and a jazz orchestra.
The entertainment begins at 7pm and tickets priced £3.50 (£2 concessions), are available from the Albert Halls box office on 01204 334400.
