CARNIVAL queens in Horwich have been handing out cash raised from last year's festivities.
They presented cheques worth £100 to the town's Sue Ryder shop, which raises funds for Leonard Cheshire homes, and to the Horwich Resource Centre play scheme.
The centre will host a table top sale at 10am on Saturday, March 22, to collect money for this year's carnival.
And the event will be attended by this year's Horwich carnival queen, princess, rosebud and pageboy.
There will also be a chance to find out more about the carnival, to be held from June 20 to 22.
Meanwhile, organisers have decided to add an extra date for a carnival charity concert.
The concert, due to be held at Horwich RMI on Friday, April 4, will feature the Bradshaws with Buzz Hawkins and Wingates Brass Band, has already sold out.
But there will now be a second show at the same venue on Sunday, April 6, and tickets are available.
