A HAULAGE firm is facing a disciplinary hearing over allegations about its professional competence.
B D European, based in Threadfold Way, Eagley Brook, will appear before the North-west Traffic Commissioner for a hearing in Leeds on Monday.
If it is found the company has acted improperly, the traffic commissioner has the power to withdraw, suspend or limit the company's operating licence.
The Bolton Evening News has learned that concerns about the company relate to the same person being transport manager for B D European and three other companies in Manchester, Blackpool and Warrington.
But a spokesman for the Department for Transport said no details about the case would be released until the hearing itself.
Generally, operators brought before the commissioner are either accused of failing to maintain their vehicles properly or breaching some terms of their licences.
The company could not be contacted for comment.
Bury firm J & M Skip and Plant Hire, of Fernhill Works, in Park Road, are also facing a disciplinary hearing over previous concerns about maintenance and drivers' hours.
