MARK Patterson expects six teams to be in the fight to avoid two relegation places in the Conference.

The Leigh RMI manager has seen his side win four of their last eight games, but are still in the bottom three.

When Patterson took over he stopped the rot of six successive defeats but admits it is going to be a tense battle to keep his side out of the drop zone.

"I think Kettering will be relegated but it looks like any two from six teams for the other relegation places," he admitted. "I have set targets for our survival and after our next five games we will have a good idea of what is required.

"It is very tight but I am looking for two wins from our next four games. It helps because RMI have one of the best run-ins of the teams around us."

The club's successful venture into the town centre is just the first of several initiatives the club are planning to raise the profile.

The Hilton Park outfit have the lowest attendances in the Conference and Patterson is desperate to get more people through the turnstiles.

Officals and players went out and about on Saturday afternoon signing autographs and Patterson was pleased with the response.

"There was a lot of interest and I think it was a success," he said. "It is all aimed at making people aware of who and what we are, but it won't happen overnight. We have to keep working at it."
