VARIETY was the key when Bolton's musical youth played before a packed audience at the Albert Halls.

There was a little bit of everything on the fourth night of the Bolton music Centre Presents concert series, which has involved hundreds of the town's schoolchildren this week.

The concert -- sponsored by Lincoln-based woodwind and brass instrument specialist John Packer Ltd -- featured a guest choir from Oldhams Community Primary School.

They were joined by Bolton Intermediate Wind Ensemble, Bolton Youth Flute Choir, Little Lever String Ensemble, Bolton Junior Youth Orchestra Strings and Bolton Junior Youth Orchestra, Bolton Brass Ensemble, Bolton Youth String Quartet and Bolton Music Service Staff String Quartet and Bolton Youth Brass Band.

The Youth Brass Band has recently received a £1,000 boost from the Westhoughton Ladies' Section of the National Farmers Union.
