A forward-looking Bolton company has won a top "green" accolade.
Greenpower Technologies Ltd, which is based in Bridgeman Place, has won a "Greening the Supply Chain" Award in a competition organised by Bolton and Bury Chamber of Commerce.
It was open to companies throughout the North Manchester Business Link area -- Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale and Wigan -- who make a contribution to improving the environment.
Greenpower was founded by former salesman Gary McMahon to help companies and organisations convert vehicle fleets to LPG -- Liquid Petroleum Gas. The company identified the HGV diesel and local authority sector as one of the heaviest pollutants per mile.
Greenpower has been working with four North Manchester authorities (Bury, Oldham, Bolton and Wigan) in installing diesel/LPG fuel conversion equipment.
