BUDDING young actors and actresses will be treading the boards on a new outdoor stage at a Daisy Hill primary school.
Youngsters at St James's CE School will use the stage for drama, dance and music.
Headmaster John Gregory said: "We are thrilled with the new stage and think that it will be a great learning tool.
"We are hoping that the stage will be used by a variety of other groups when we are not using it. We want to get to the point where it becomes the focal point for local people and we are hoping other schools in the area might use it." He added: "We could not have built this without the continued support of the parents."
Children at the school are also impressed. Pupil Amy Horrocks said: "When I first saw the stage, I thought 'Wow!' I can picture our school bands on it, in front of the whole school."
