THE first phase of a £5.5 million redevelopment of Manchester Airport's Terminal One has been completed.
Two high-capacity lifts now connect the ground floor of the terminal building with the first-floor departures lounge -- near the MyTravel check-in area.
New toilets, together with private baby changing rooms, have also been installed on the ground floor, next to the lifts.
The first phase has cost more than £1m.
Cllr Brian Harrison, Chairman of Manchester Airport plc, said that the full refurbishment scheme for the 40-year-old Terminal One was scheduled to be completed for the start of this year's holiday season. It will result in a wider choice of shops and catering outlets.
