Course Records: Neil Wilkinson 30 mins 55 secs, Lisa Heyes 35 mins 53 secs

The 15th Roddlesworth Roller saw an increased field for 2003 and attracted its usual high quality field.

First home was Paul Massey of Horwich in an excellent time of 33 mins 28 secs, who pulled away from Junior man Tim Ellis (33 mins 43 secs) of Bolton in the last mile.

Paul Guinan (Blackburn Harriers) and Paul Worthington (Burnden RR) completed 3rd and 4th places respectively.

The female race was won convincingly by Anne Powell (Leigh) who finished first lady and 9th overall in 36 mins 24 secs.

Local club, Chorley Harriers's Sarah Scarrott finished 2nd in 39 mins 24 secs.

The Chorley clubs also featured in the prizes with Gwen Farnworth taking fist vet lady, Janet Pound first vet 45.

Bill Atkinson Vet65 finished ahead of all runners' 10 years younger to take first vet 55 prize.

The team honours went to: Bolton (Tim Ellis, David Shaw and Matt Lang) with Chorley Harriers trio of Gareth Booth, David Hall and Michael Unsworth taking second overall team.

The veteran team prize went convincingly to Burnden Road Runners (Andrew Duffy, Clive Burke and Andy Staveley).

The organisers would like to publicly thank Simon Townsend who stopped to help an injured runner, and therefore possibly deprived himself of a prize!

2-Mile Adidas Daffodil Doddle Multi Terrain Race. Sunday 9 March 2003

This year's race was as hotly contested as ever in the athletic team event with Chorley Harriers taking first team (Andrew Thompson, Richard Yates and Phillip Unsworth). However individual top places went to Marc Hartley of Pendle who came home fist in 10 mins 29 secs, with 11 years old Leigh Lennon (Hyndburn) clocking 12 mins 13 secs to take first female and 6th overall.

The first Secondary School team went to Parklands High School team of Alison Leonard, William Dearden and Stefanie Snape.

First Primary School team went to Abbey Village with Marcus Raymond, Helena Carr and Stephanie Field narrowly defeating the challenge of Withnell St. Josephs. Marcus and Helena also collected first Abbey Village prizes.
