CHILDREN at Westleigh Methodist Primary School in Leigh have raised hundreds of pounds for charity through their Citizenship programme of work.
By completing a sponsored worksheet children raised more than £400 for the NSPCC, a figure which equates to almost £4 per child.
Other fundraising activities have included filling empty mineral water bottles with 5p pieces which raised £225 for Christian Aid and wearing favourite football strips for a day which brought in £80 towards the Key 103 Manchester Kids Appeal.
The school has also sent a contribution to the Children's Hospital Appeal Trust from money raised through a charity football tournament.
Headteacher Anne Bowyer said: "We are so proud of our children and everyone who supports them."
"The school is committed to supporting the community of Westleigh and beyond and believe this is a vital part of a child's education - preparing them to be the good citizens of tomorrow."
