Telford 1-1 Leigh RMI by Martyn Hindley: HAVING taken a dismal away record to Shropshire, Leigh RMI would have snatched a draw with both hands if offered it before the visit to Telford.
But having dominated the second half, they were left to rue several missed chances as they were held to their first point on the road this season.
Fielding two debutants at this stage in the season was a brave decision from Mark Patterson but one that was ultimately to reap rewards. The performance of young left-back Ian Pendlebury was solid and dependable as was Neil Prince on the left side of midfield.
But good work from Telford in the opening half hour carved out an opportunity for the Bucks to break the deadlock.
Martin Barlow's backheel caught the RMI defence flat-footed and allowed Paul Moore to smash the ball past Coburn from eight yards.
Calamity then reigned at the other end as the home defence froze allowing Ian Monk to stoop and convert a delicately lobbed through ball from Prince.
The equaliser spurred on Leigh and Paul Edwards denied Neil Campbell as the striker bore down on goal before substitute Andy Heald dragged an effort disappointingly wide.
When Ged Courtney tried to walk the ball in, he was greeted by a sea of red shirts as it became apparent that it was not to be Leigh's day.
But it could have been much worse had Grant Brown's header not been hacked to safety by Phil Salt on the line.
