THE war in Iraq has led to the cancellation of new year celebrations for members of the Kurdish community.
Community leaders in Greater Manchester say planned celebrations have been marred by the war affecting Kurdish people in Iraq.
Many of the area's 5,000 Kurds in the area have expressed their desire to see Saddam Hussein overthrown.
They say his persecution of their people means they want to see the success of the Coalition forces.
