WANDERERS' were rewarded for their continual second-half pressure with a classic Jay Jay Okocha penalty conversion in the last minute as they climbed back out of the bottom three.
It put the pressure back on West Ham as Wanderers leap-frogged into fourth from the bottom, but also meant struggling Leeds, Birmingham, and even Aston Villa, could still be surprise Premiership relegation casualties.
Manager Sam Allardyce, paying tribute to star men Okocha, Youri Djorkaeff and Ivan Campo, said: "Not bad for a bunch of foreigners, is it?"
Allardyce asked for the Reebok to roar and they certainly did - the fans were fantastic as the Bolton Evening News "Keep The Whites Up" campaign hit a very high note.
Chief Soccer Writer Gordon Sharrock filed this full-time match report from the stadium.
