UP AND coming singer Jamie Pearce rocked a Bolton school with his live performance.
Jamie, currently supporting on tour the popular Popstars band Liberty X, stopped off at Turton High School Media Arts College for a short live performance as part of a music workshop project.
The singer's performance included his soon to be released debut single Tabloid Queen and after the concert Jamie and tour manager Lee Peterson were quizzed on all aspects of the pop industry by Year 10 media pupils.
Head of music John Parkinson said: "The kids loved it. He did the performance in the sports hall at lunchtime and the kids were dancing, singing, jumping up and down. Some of them went on stage with him and danced."
Jamie confessed to having a soft spot for American pop princess Britney Spears as he revealed that she was the person he would most like to perform a duet with and also gave youngsters tips on how to get started in the business.
Jamie told the pupils how he had formed a group while he was in school and had eventually moved down south and started out by going along to open auditions.
Already Jamie has written hundreds of songs and has picked about of dozen of them for his new album.
Jamie's sponsors Muller also gave away around 2,000 yoghurt 'Squeezers' in the school canteen.
Mr Parkinson said: "I think Jamie is one of the first people to actually get a sponsorship deal before releasing a single." After the workshop Jamie was whisked off to a concert near Hull and the following day he continued his hectic schedule of workshops in Brighton.
