POLICE have condemned a driver who fled a hit-and-run accident which killed a 19-year-old student.
Jonathan Roberts, originally from Shrewsbury, Shropshire, was a student at Umist, Manchester. He was knocked down on Oxford Road, at 4.36pm, Monday.
"This was an appalling incident," says Inspector Ian Hales of Greater Manchester Police.
He adds the driver must have known they hit someone but drove off with "no regard for this man's life".
