CHESHIRE-based entrepreneur and art collector Frank Cohen is to unveil a selection from his remarkable collection of modern and contemporary art in Manchester.
Thought to be the biggest collection outside of London, The Frank Cohen Collection comprises more than 500 pieces of modern and contemporary art -- mainly paintings and sculpture by British and German artists.
The exhibition will focus on the collection's young and emerging artists and will be held at the Comme Ca Art Gallery from Saturday to May 3. These are artists Cohen has found particularly interesting while visiting artists, art schools and up-and-coming galleries around the world. While not yet household names they have already achieved acclaim in the art world.
The exhibition, sponsored by UBS Private Banking, will include work by Peter Stauss, Sophie Von Hellerman, Kenny Hunter and Rachel Feinstein. The Comme Ca Art Gallery is at 24 Worsley Street, Castlefield, Manchester, M15 4LD, telephone (0161) 839 7187. Viewing Times are from Tuesday to Friday from 11.30am to 5pm, and Saturday, 12 noon to 4pm. Late night opening on Thursday until 7.30pm.
