PAUL Horton, who is one of three scholarship players on Lancashire's books this year, was an 11-hour addition to the Lancashire squad that departed for their pre-season training camp in South Africa on Monday.
A prolific right handed batsman, he had an Australian upbringing but with parents who hail from Liverpool, he plays for Sefton Cricket Club.
Horton,19, replaces all-rounder Chris Schofield who injured an ankle after falling down a flight of stairs over the week-end.
He is unlikely to be fit over the next couple of weeks and is having intensive treatment at home in the hope of being fit for the start of the season.
