AMBITIOUS plans to create an huge outdoor centre for walkers in Edgworth have been unveiled.
More than an acre of land at Clough Head Farm on Broadhead Road will be turned into a holiday site for keen walkers, if planning permission is granted.
Plans include a ramblers' lodge with hostel and self-catering accommodation, a campsite, an activity centre and the replacement of an agricultural building. Access to the site and a car park will also be built.
The buildings will replace current cattle and pig sheds after the farmers stopped farming pigs two years ago and cattle last year. Part of the farm will remain a working farm concentrating on sheep.
Planning chiefs said a decision would be made within the next six weeks and the applicants would then have five years to build the centre.
