MANCHESTER and Liverpool have received high praise in the latest edition of the Lonely Planet travel guide to Britain.
It describes Manchester as "interesting and vibrant" and Liverpool receives an accolade for being "well on the way to revitalising itself". The guide urges tourists to visit Britain's cities and picturesque countryside.
